Recycling
Wheel wash systems for recycling and demolition sites
SiteWash systems for recycling yards and demolition sites: every truck washed at the exit, so mud and dust stay on site and out of the road and the drains.
The requirement
What the site needs
Recycling and demolition sites run a steady stream of tippers, skip lorries and articulated trucks over broken ground, and every one of them leaves onto a public road. Whatever the tires pick up in the yard ends up on that road unless it is washed off at the exit.
A SiteWash washes each vehicle automatically as it drives through, and recycles its wash water in a closed loop, so the site is not adding to its water use or its discharges to control trackout.
Engineering considerations
What we size for
- Traffic profile
- Size to the peak hour, from skip lorries to articulated trucks up to 45 t gross.
- Material loading
- Mixed ground and fines need more water per vehicle and a longer passage.
- Water
- Steel tank, existing concrete tank or settlement lagoon, recirculated in a closed loop.
- Layout
- Bolted construction, so the system can move when the yard layout changes or the job ends.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Will it take loaded tippers and articulated trucks?
Yes. SiteWash spray systems are rated for 45 t gross and 33,000 lb (15 t) per axle, with a 9 ft 10 in (3,000 mm) wheel passage and no height restriction.
Does the wash water go to drain?
No. Wash water is recirculated in a closed loop and the system does not discharge to storm drains. Where a site needs one, an overflow to the mains drain can be fitted.
Can the system move when the yard changes?
Yes. Every SiteWash system is bolted together, so it can be dismantled and reinstalled at a new position or a new site.
Can I rent one?
Yes. Rental is available direct in Ireland and the UK, and through partners in other markets. Rental includes delivery, installation, commissioning and collection.
